Sometimes a patient's main skin problem is redness, facial veins or blotchy hyperpigmentation in otherwise healthy skin. A solution to these problems can be a series of Photofacials using the Cutera Xeo. Cutera Xeo combines the Laser Genesis ND:yag laser with Limelight IPL (Intensified Photolight Therapy), to customize the delivery to best address your specific skin complaint. We use the term Photofacials for a reason – problems of this nature are often chronic and are best addressed with ongoing treatments to maintain control of the problem after we have resolved it. These treatments are an easy in-office procedure which usually results in no downtime unless treating stubborn areas of hyperpigmentation or capillaries.
These treatments are also an excellent, easy procedure to gently stimulate collagen fiber contracture and formation to tighten skin and reduce pore size. We use Cutera treatments commonly as a maintenance treatment following more aggressive skin rejuvenation.
Treatments take about 20 minutes to perform. Depending upon the aggressiveness of the treatment for conditions like hyperpigmentation or facial veins, you may experience some reactivity in the skin. This can vary from some areas of redness when treating capillaries to darkening areas of hyperpigmentation which then gradually resolve over 7-10 days resulting in removal of the areas of hyperpigmentation. Rarely scabbing or crusting can occur.
